Main event time! That's right, Mankind vs Undertaker isn't even the last match of the PPV. Despite rightfully taking place after the final of the King Of The Ring tournament itself, the bout is actually an understudy to the WWF Championship match.. The camera cuts to Lawler sweeping some stray thumbtacks away, and JR - pencil in hand - hyping the upcoming Austin vs Kane encounter as though nothing happened. An oft-forgotten detail is the fact that the main event is influenced by a couple of familiar interfering superstars - Undertaker and Mankind! Heel Foley runs down to assist Kane, only to eat a Stone Cold Stunner (as if he hasn't taken enough punishment already). Undertaker then hits the ring in a flattering black t-shirt and inadvertently nails Stone Cold with a chair. This causes the Rattlesnake to bleed and - as per the match's First Blood stipulation - tragically lose his WWF Championship for an entire day! He'd win it back on Raw the following night. It's a shambolic end to the PPV, a show thankfully remembered more for the cell match than anything else.
