On the August 26, 2013 edition of Raw, CM Punk fought Curtis Axel with the stipulation that, if Punk won, Paul Heyman would have to step into the ring with him. Punk of course won the match, and after security dragged Heyman to the ring, Axel attacked Punk and handcuffed him. As the two insulted Punk, he managed to land a kick square to Axel's head and also kick Heyman to the floor. Axel then ran in with a chair and gave Heyman a kendo stick, which he used to give Punk a severe beat-down, all while screaming at him, "I loved you, I martyred myself for you, I fathered you, I cared about you, you were everything to me. I offered you Brock, I gave you my heart, you broke my heart. I loved you." Wrestling is pretty homo-erotic at the best of times, but this segment was just really, really weird. A rare time where Paul Heyman's mic skills fell pretty flat.
