20 WWE Retirements That Meant Absolutely Nothing

12. Mark Henry (2013)

This might be the shortest fake retirement on this entire list. After John Cena successfully defended the WWE Championship against Ryback at the Payback Pay Per View, he needed a new challenger for the belt. After one of his promos, Mark Henry came out carrying a pair of wrestling boots. He cut a promo acting as if he was going to retire from the company, but John Cena was still hanging out around the ring apron, so perceptive people could probably tell something was up. After delivering the speech and telling his wife, €œBaby, I€™m coming home!€ Henry picked up Cena and slammed him, and a new rivalry was born while a wrestling retirement lasted literally seconds. Considering how Henry has barely appeared on the shows, let alone wrestled, since his match with Cena at Money in the Bank 2013, he was probably better off legit retiring.
