20 WWE Retirements That Meant Absolutely Nothing

11. Daniel Bryan (2010)

This is the only legitimate firing on this list, but it was done out of necessity, because Bryan had seriously violated the WWE€™s PG presentation, although he and the other Nexus mates were instructed to cause as much chaos and raise as much hell as possible to make their debut as a unit in May 2010 more impactful. But Bryan crossed the line when he choked ring announcer Justin Roberts with his own tie. Bryan was released from WWE, but probably with the understanding that after everything dies down, he€™d be brought back. And a couple months later, that€™s exactly what happened, as Bryan returned as a surprise participant in the 10-man WWE vs. Nexus main event. More than likely, this was WWE's plan all along, but we can't be completely certain he was always coming back. Bryan€™s had an amazing career since returning to the WWE, but if they weren€™t invested enough in him to bring him back, it would have never come to pass.
