20 WWE Royal Rumble Undercard Nightmares

8. Torrie Wilson Vs Dawn Marie Wilson (2003)

The Paul Heyman booking era of Smackdown in 2002/03 is fondly remembered by many fans, mostly due to the endless stream of fabulous TV matches, the maturation of a rich midcard and the elevation of the likes of Brock Lesnar, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and Chris Benoit to main event programmes with established stars like Kurt Angle and The Big Show.

All of that was a lot to get away with in the creatively-stifled post-2001 WWE, so seemingly to distract Vince McMahon from potentially ruining all of his good content, Heyman crafted the saga of Al Wilson for top brass to really sink their teeth into.

During an innocent enough visit to his daughter's workplace, Torrie Wilson's divorced Dad Al would take a liking to Dawn Marie, who would see a perfect opportunity to steal Wilson's inheritance once she was married into the family.

What followed was the traditional love story between Al and Dawn; Boy-meets-girl, boy-and-girl-fall-in-love, boy-marries-girl-on-TV-in-underpants, boy-dies-during-honeymoon-intercourse, girl-and-bereaved-daughter-fight-over-corpse.

Naturally after the funeral home scrap, the only way to settle things once and for all was a demeaning 'Stepmother vs Stepdaughter' match, which was mercifully kept to three minutes, and apparently provided Torrie some baffling closure on the whole torrid affair.
