20 WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Tag Teams You've Already Forgotten
10. Mark Jindrak & Luther Reigns
The original Team Angle -- later the World's Greatest Tag Team -- were phenomenal. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas were arguably the finest tandem of the forsaken period between the dissolution of Edge and Christian and the debut of the Shield. That's probably why the second Team Angle gets so little love. Don't get me wrong; they're not even remotely in their predecessors' league. They were just two tall-ish muscular guys, at a time when the roster was just lousy with tall-ish muscular guys, and OVW was pumping them out too.
Jindrak and Reigns' WWE runs were basically a combination of missed opportunities and gimmicks that would get repurposed later on. Jindrak, for example, was a 6'6" powerhouse who barely missed out on getting Batista's spot in Evolution. He also got an early version of Big Show's "I've been punching you all match but this ONE punch will kill you" gimmick. He'd become one of Mexico's biggest draws as Marco Corleone. Luther Reigns had, uh, a surname that someone in creative really liked.
Today They'd Be: Tyler Breeze's dim-witted, gasoline-fighting bodyguards.
