20 WWE Superstars That Hacked Off Their Hair

For many men, those that have it often take it for granted, and those that don't have it typically wish they did:

Hair.

Hair plays an important part in the physical makeup of a person. One of the first ways to describe someone is usually by their hair color and style, in particular the length.

WWE superstars are no different and, in many cases, rely even more heavily on a certain look or hairstyle in order to try and stand out to the audience. It's a huge part of their livelihood.

Think of some of the greatest wrestling characters over the years. You can't do so without picturing their hair. From Bret Hart's shiny, slippery, "oil-slicked" hair, as Bobby Heenan would say, to the long, flowing golden locks of the Heartbreak Kid, a wrestler's hair is often a prized possession and a signature characteristic.

As talents progress in their careers, they often try to remain fresh and exciting by changing their appearance. One of the simplest ways to do that is to change their hairstyle, and in the cases of those wrestlers with long hair, chop it all off.

Few hairstyles get more attention than when long hair is cut short, or even shaved off completely. The following 10 WWE superstars did just that!

Starting off the list is the World's Strongest Man and one of WWE's longest tenured talents: Mark Henry.

In 1996, Mark Henry debuted against Jerry 'The King' Lawler at In Your House: Mind Games in Philadelphia. Mark had been an Olympic powerlifter for the USA, and his wrestling attire had him looking like a gigantic American flag.

As flashy and bright as his wrestling gear was, his hairstyle was just the opposite, short and simple.

The hairstyle would remain for the next several years including Henry's time in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). When Henry eventually returned to the main roster for good, he was sporting a whole new look driven primarily by his hair.

Mark had grown it out, and it now stretched to the top of his trap muscles, marking a hard changeover from his previous, mild-mannered-yet sexually-driven persona. He was now a monster heel that would eventually capture the World Heavyweight Championship.

In 2013, Henry decided to shift his look again, this time shaving his head completely bald and growing out his beard. Now bald, combined with the dark beard, Mark resembled famed rapper Rick Ross (The Boss) and even dressed as him for Halloween last year.

The long hair might've been gone, but the Hall of Pain remained.
