20 WWE Women's Wrestlers You Totally Don't Remember

18. Hiroko

WWE have a hard enough time booking Japanese talents convincingly, let alone Japanese women, and Hiroko is a perfect example of this. Debuting alongside her real-life husband Kenzo Suzuki in 2004, Hiroko wore traditional Japanese geisha attire, and served as her husband’s translator and manager through his WWE career.

Hiroko’s run was nothing memorable. She took part in a few catfights with Torrie Wilson a few months after debuting, and later faced-off against Torrie in a kimono match. Stripped of her kimono (and dignity), Hiroko was left embarrassed by Wilson, and she and Kenzo were released shortly after being drafted to Raw in June 2005.

Playing-up to traditional Japanese stereotypes didn’t help Hiroko’s career, and neither did her husband’s stalling fortunes in the ring. Though he enjoyed a brief spell as WWE Tag Team Champion, Kenzo is best remembered for adopting a corny pro-USA persona shortly after winning the belts. He and Hiroko returned to Japan upon their release, with Hiroko currently serving as a member of Funabashi’s city council.
