Both Hogan and Snuka were obviously huge parts of the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985, and the reasons why it was a huge success. So when it came to the follow-up event a year later, McMahon wanted to triple down on the show by hosting it at three different venues simultaneously, something that was never done again because it was a stupid idea.

One idea that was suggested but never came to fruition was a match between the Hulkster and the Superfly in the main event. The first ECW Champion was pitched by McMahon to turn heel and feud with Hogan until the event. Considering the main event of the show ended up being a steel cage match, we likely could have seen a recreation of the famous dive.

Why didn't it happen?

The story of this match only comes from the mouth of Jimmy Snuka himself, and according to him, it was once again Hulk Hogan who refused to work the match, not wanting to work with who he described as "that crazy maniac". However, considering what we know now about Snuka, it was probably for the best he turned it down.
