20 Years Later... 10 Reasons Vince McMahon Was STILL RIGHT To Screw Bret Hart

7. False Finish

The wire Bret Hart wore into his showdown meeting with Vince McMahon shortly before the Survivor Series main event introduced a new slice of wrestling parlance into the lexicon of the informed supporter. Trapped in a deadlock of indecision, Hart wanted a 'schmoz' finish. That meant a feast of run-ins from Bret and Shawn's respective gangs leading to a disqualification in order to cope with the chaos of that singular night. He left his bosses office thinking exactly that would go down.

What he seemingly failed to consider is what a p*ss-poor conclusion that would have been to an historic pay-per-view main event. Hart had a myriad of varied and valued reasons for not wanting to lay down for Shawn Michaels let alone do it in Canada, but his suggestion offered little to a crowd he'd always so preciously protected as a hero for years.

The fans in the Molson Centre that night missed out on a disappointing faction fight to end their night. Instead, they witnessed history.
