3. Jinder Mahal

What a year it has been for Jinder Mahal. Jinder was the first superstar to officially move from red to blue, in what many believed was a straight jobber swap with Curt Hawkins. In his first appearance on the show, Jinder was embarrassed by American Football star Rob Gronkowski and defeated by Mojo Rawley. Nothing had changed for the soon-to-be 'Modern Day Maharaja'.

Little did we know then, but Jinder Mahal was about to embark on a six-month reign as WWE Champion. Jinder held the title for 170 days, meaning he was WWE Champion for more days than Edge, Daniel Bryan, Mick Foley, and other arguably more esteemed colleagues. It is still difficult to truly fathom.

Whether you like him or loathe him (nobody seems to love him), Jinder Mahal’s career has been revolutionised by his move to the blue brand. His WWE Championship wasn’t exactly the most interesting, but Mahal is now established as a midcard heel at the very least. The 'Modern Day Maharaja' is a modern day success story.
