2020 WWE Predictions We Got Horribly Wrong

1. Wednesdays Will Outdraw Mondays - Michael Hamflett

"These are difficult times we're in..."

F*ck the ignorance of the late-2019 human race. Anyway...

"...but can I offer you an egg in these trying times. An egg that has been incubating since the start of the Wednesday Night Wars. It can only be a matter of time before Wednesday's outdraw Monday Night Raw. It's about time for quality to usurp quantity, it's about time for fake news to dissolve under the power of genuine earthy quality product, and finally with AEW and NXT we have it..."

And we did! That's not to say Dynamite and the weekly episodes of NXT are in league with one another, but there was some satisfaction to be gleamed from the relatively novel concept of the critically acclaimed wrestling shows finding more viewers than the bloated amorphous blob masquerading as a Sports Entertainment destination on Monday Nights. This happened at least twice in 2020, and stands to keep on in 2021 unless Raw can arrest an abysmal slide.

Not all fans on sides of the Wednesday Night War divide would agree that both shows offer consistent quality, but as past-self me put it in yet more smug self-quoting;

"..if that means that AEW and NXT are constantly levelling up and levelling up so they can topple that declining two million that Raw continues to get, then wrestling will be better for it..."

On reflection, maybe the ignorance of late-2019 human race was actually quite endeari-

"...so that's my Bold Prediction For 2020 - everyone just feels better."

Oh Icarus, fly not so near the sun lest thy waxy wings should melt.
