Reigns cut short their argument by giving Rusev an ultimatum; either he come down and face him in the ring, or wait until the main event like a coward. Bizarrely, he never gave the Bulgarian a chance to respond, immediately dropping the mic and cueing his theme music. The segment simply ended there, a transparent example of the WWE's excessive scriptwriting. At times, the writing team seem to forget that they're not actually writing an episodic drama; scenes shouldn't be ended in such an abrupt, clearly planned manner.
