21 Years Of WWE SmackDown Mistakes

14. 2006 - "Eddie's In Hell"

The saccharinity and psychopathy WWE exhibited in equal doses in the booking of Rey Mysterio following Eddie Guerrero's tragic death eventually dovetailed in February 2006, less than four months removed from 'Latino Heat's passing. Mysterio was off to WrestleMania by virtue of his Royal Rumble victory, but the callous Randy Orton talked him into a scrap over the title shot by screaming in his face that his best bud was now rotting in hell.

Unfathomable? Yes. Uncomfortable? Yes too. Unnecessary? Yes again. There is no twist or punchline answer. Breaking the rule of three couldn't compare with the company breaking the rules around bad taste.
