22 Greatest WWE Champion vs. Champion Matches Ever
15. Edge vs. Test - Survivor Series 2001
Finally, a clean finish to discuss! And a good one at that.
At Survivor Series 2001, in the culmination of the Invasion angle, Edge and Test contested a title unification bout for their United States and Intercontinental Championships respectively.
A decent match between two of the company’s brightest talents saw Edge pick up the win, smartly countering a Full Nelson Slam into a roll up to emerge the victor.
And thankfully I don’t even have to rant about title lineages and prestige. While the unification saw the US title shelved for a brief period, it returned to action less than two years later when Eddie Guerrero won it at Vengeance. Both titles are of course still active in the WWE today, where until recently they were being worn by two of the biggest stars in the industry.
