21. Continuity Errors
The ensuing segment saw one of the rarest occurrences in the modern-day WWE: a decent Jerry Lawler joke. The King claimed that New Day's bubble-wrapped piece of furniture was "a decaffeinated coffee table", a surprisingly sharp gag from a man more used to phoning it in at every opportunity these days. Unfortunately, the segment also boasted an all-too-common gaffe - a continuity error. The New Day listed the importance of tables throughout history, explaining that the first Thanksgiving dinner was held at a table, the declaration of independence was signed on one, and newsreader Walter Cronkite announced the 1969 moon landing from one. Woods also boasted that the New Day themselves signed their WWE contracts on a table, to which Kofi excitedly replied "I remember that! I remember that day!" That would be an amusing anecdote, were it not for the fact that Langston signed his developmental deal with the company in 2009, Woods in 2010, and Kingston way back in 2006. Fortunately, the New Day's gimmick automatically renders any stories they tell slightly dubious - and they're awesome enough to overcome most mistakes anyway.
