11. Gunner Scott
There are few wrestlers who should feel as aggrieved as Brent 'Gunner Scott' Albright. A solid worker, he was given a big push in the Paul Heyman booked OVW, contesting a memorable feud with CM Punk over the OVW Heavyweight Championship. Albright's gimmick in OVW was to be a Chris Benoit-like 'shooter', using hard strikes and submission holds. When he was called up to the Smackdown roster in April 2006, he was brought in as Benoit's 'protégé'. The newly-christened Gunner Scott walked, talked and, most importantly wrestled like Benoit, whom he regularly teamed with. The road agents, particularly Fit Finlay and Dean Malenko, gave him bad reviews. They basically buried him to the higher-ups for 'stealing' Benoit's moves, despite the fact that he was just doing as instructed. He was sent back to OVW in June and was told to changed his style and gimmick. WWE, after coming to the conclusion that Scott hadn't changed enough, released him on October 12th, 2006.
