3. Getting "The Call" From Vince
Steve asks what it was like when Edge received the call from his boss that his career was over. He said he kind of knew it was coming because he had been feeling some tingling, and then one day the phone rang. Vince told him it was the hardest call he'd ever had to make before telling him he had to retire. Edge said he felt sorry for himself for a while and wallowed in his own self-pity, then just tried to wrap his mind around it. He says that he was already preparing himself, it just happened faster than he expected. He calls it a weight lifted off his shoulders and says he was actually happy that he didn't have to make the decision and feel like he was letting anyone down.
