22. The Creation Of Kane
It's worth remembering the creation of Kane was only done for one reason - to give The Undertaker somebody to defeat in a grand storyline. It was 1997 and Glenn Jacobs had been playing characters like a mad dentist and fake Diesel. He wasn't really going anywhere and looked ripe for future endeavouring. But The Undertaker saw the seven foot, three hundred pounder and had an idea. It was an idea that would be replete throughout Taker's career, which was to be fed giants to conquer. Undertaker's ego genuinely believed it made him look tougher if he was put over big guys. So Jacobs was rechristened Kane and given a huge backstory that linked him with The Undertaker, all so that Taker could get a big win at WrestleMania 14. Thankfully for Jacobs, he got over in his own right, and ended up being so much more than just an Undertaker storyline.
