There aren't too many people in the professional wrestling business who can claim that they have beaten both Steve Austin and the Rock. Well, Chris Jericho not only did that but he also defeated those two men in the same night, becoming the very first undisputed WWF world champion.

After WCW and ECW had been killed off for good in the main event of Survivor Series 2001,  a match which saw Jericho turn heel by trying to cost Team WWF the match, a decision was made to unify the WCW and WWF world titles at the Vengeance pay-per-view.

In a mini-tournament, Jericho first defeated the Rock for the WCW world title (renamed the "world heavyweight championship" for some stupid and bizarre reason) and then beat Steve Austin for the WWF world title to unify the belts for the first time in history.

He then proceeded to face both men separately at the next two pay-per-views and retained both times, cementing Jericho as a main event star.
