WWE's only submission-centered Breaking Point Pay-Per-View hosted a SummerSlam rematch between John Cena and Randy Orton. At SummerSlam, Orton retained his WWE Title with loads of cheating and interference, so this time, the match would be an "I Quit" bout.

Orton knew he had to overwhelm Cena quickly, and he used a TV monitor and the ring steps to that end. Orton continued to brutalize Cena with weapons, but the most memorable spot of the match came when "The Viper" handcuffed Cena to the ringpost and began to tee off on him with a Singapore cane. Despite Orton's attack, which raised visible welts on the challenger's body, Cena refused to quit. He finally escaped from the ringpost, handcuffed himself to Orton, and applied an STF, forcing Orton to tap out immediately and earning Cena his fourth WWE Championship.
