For about three years, Cody Rhodes has solidly gotten over whatever he's been given to do by WWE. Of course, Cody's been on TV for almost ten in a sort of middling along role, so you probably don't notice Cody's dependability, durability and number of times he's been a solid anchor for midcard storylines. If I would've told you that Cody Rhodes would come back with a David Bowie gimmick and get it so over to the point that remembering who "Cody Rhodes" ever was would be likely, you might be shocked. However, he's a solid wrestler who needed that extra unique oompf to get him over the top. When having a "Dashing" "Legacy" isn't enough, maybe doing something outside of the box that's still uniquely yourself works best.
