25 Best Wrestling Moments Of 2024

18. THAT Bronson Reed Tsunami

Watching a previously unfancied talent get over isn’t just a cool development in and of itself: it breeds an almost unshakeable trust in the creative process.

Bronson Reed, bluntly, wasn’t very good until the back half of 2023. He was outrageously athletic - but then, again, that’s almost a prerequisite for the upper-tier modern hoss - but he never felt terrifying. And, on the few occasions he was required to sell, his work bordered on the laughable.

Then, steered by some true booking flair, he evolved into the best version of himself.

In his write-off angle, Seth Rollins, selflessly, sold for multiple Reed Tsunamis.

Developing something of an aura, Reed seized his chance and maximised his minutes. Programmed with Braun Strowman subsequently, in the sort of dynamic that speaks to everybody’s inner childlike wrestling fan, Reed in a killer angle smashed Braun through a car windshield. Reed was just a guy on the roster; after that, he felt like a giant for the first time.

This was positively awesome: the sort of mind-blowing, fist-pumping, incredibly painful-looking live action that only pro wrestling at its best can deliver.
