Best Match: The Undertaker Vs. Edge

Worst Match: Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjill

Headlined by The Undertaker's brilliant Streak defence and World Heavyweight Title victory over Edge, WrestleMania XXIV was able to sustain audience enthusiasm over its epic four hour duration through diverse and momentous in-ring action.

Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair's Career Threatening Match was imbued with a tangible sense of emotion, which equalised the sloppiness resulting from Flair's lack of mobility. Even though he later reneged on his retirement, as many predicted, it's difficult not to empathise with the man, even on repeated viewing, as he burst into tears before the referee's hand struck the mat for a third time. He had made a career out of making wrestling his life.

The classic main event was supplemented by one of the weaker and less believable - but still exciting - Money In The Bank ladder efforts, before Big Show and Floyd Mayweather tore the house down in a match far better than it had any right to be.

The opening Belfast Brawl was also stunning, made all the better by style of the burly bruisers who contested it. Suspension of disbelief was incredibly easy as JBL and Finlay tore lumps off one another.
