The Road Warriors had one of the most ludicrous gimmicks in wrestling history, but one which also happened to be undeniably awesome. The pair ran through the NWA in the mid-to-late 1980s, quickly establishing themselves as one of the most dominant tag teams ever seen (despite their relative inexperience and poor matches). Without sounding too harsh, a lot of the Warriors' success must be credited to their image, rather than any actual in-ring talent. Hawk and Animal had one of the most fearsome looks ever seen in wrestling - even if it may come across as a little cartoonish these days. The face paint, spikes and shoulder-pads instantly conveyed the pair as a legitimate threat, and ensured their place in the history of the business.
