On his 'Something To Wrestle' podcast, Bruce Prichard spoke in glowing terms about an incidental moment that occurred between Sable and Stone Cold Steve Austin during a 1998 edition of Monday Night Raw. Then under the blackmailed employ of Vince McMahon, Sable exited the ring as Austin entered, with the pair briefly sharing a look that generated as much excitement behind the scenes as it did from a rapturous live crowd.

It came to nothing in storylines, but it was almost as if the company had inadvertently stumbled on the Era's 'Mega Powers' handshake a decade after the original. Sable was that big a deal.

Her relatively short stint as the female face of 'Attitude' betrays the immense support she'd amassed since breaking away from real-life husband Marc Mero early in 1998. Fantastic at little but passable at much, she was exactly the right person at the right time for the vixen-cum-warrior WWE were in need of to reintroduce their Women's Title. White hot crowd responses for over a year cemented her placement.
