7. Brock Lesnar Vs CM Punk (SummerSlam 2013)

Extracting something genuinely special from Brock Lesnar in a manner only John Cena had managed since 'The Beast's divisive 2012 return, CM Punk proved himself to yet again be ahead of many of the chasing pack, in spite of WWE's refusal to keep him in their upper echelon after his iconic 2011-2013 title reign finally concluded.

Structured to protect 'The Straight Edge Superstar' ahead of him suffering his third loss that year to a star perceived to be far beyond his level (Punk had lay down for The Rock and The Undertaker at WWE's other major cards), the 'Voice Of The Voiceless' gave his weathered body to Brock, asking only for a credible contest in return.

The two made violent magic.

Juggling his desperation to kill Paul Heyman and his need to survive Lesnar's onslaught, Punk wrestled and fought with ample amounts intelligence and fire throughout, outmaneuvering and outgunning his monstrous foe whenever he could avoid having the ever-loving sh*t kicked out of him. He lost (of f*cking course), but it was another creative triumph in what would prove to be his final ever year as a full-timer.
