Over three hours into a super-extended five hour card, and two supreme-level wrestling machines were able to hold the attention of the fans for around 20 minutes. Not that you'd expect anything less from Guerrero and Angle around the apex of each man's career. Little more was required than telling both men to go out there and just do what they do best.

The dynamic was as form-fitting as lycra, with Guerrero's cat-and-mouse cleverness weaving impeccably with Angle's bull-headed destructiveness. Angle's resolute focus on getting Guerrero to submit to his ankle lock led to a swank moment of invention on Guerrero's part, and the ending satisfied each man's persona, while leaving the door open for rematches down the line.
