25 Lamest WWE SummerSlam Moments Of All Time
3. Bret Wrestles Owen In A Cage, But Undertaker Versus Undertaker Goes On Last - SummerSlam 1994
In WWE, 1994 will always be remembered for the epic feud between legendary champion Bret Hart and his jealous younger brother Owen. The two clashed at 'Mania in a classic bout that saw Owen win cleanly a mere two hours before Bret became champion once again, and so Owen dogged him the rest of the year. Finally at SummerSlam, they had a rematch -- this time, in a cage. Owen fought tooth and nail for over half an hour, trying to escape the cage and win the title at every opportunity, but Bret won, avenging his loss and retaining his title. All in all, it was one of the greatest matches and programs in WWE history.
It wasn't the main event of SummerSlam, though -- The Undertaker had been missing since a loss to Yokozuna at Royal Rumble, and when he returned with Ted DiBiase, the man fans saw was clearly an impostor. Finally, at SummerSlam, the real Undertaker came back (following a light show, no less), and dispatched his doppelganger in a terrible, nine minute match that closed out the show. It was a slap in the face to Bret, Owen, and the fans, and the ultimate evidence of Vince McMahon's personal preferences.
