25 Lamest WrestleMania Moments Of All Time

13. WrestleMania XV - Brawl For All

WWE's legitimate shoot Brawl for All tournament in the summer of 1998 was a complete disaster. Designed to get Steve Williams over as a bad-ass en route to a feud with Steve Austin, it ended with Williams (and others) injured and jobber Bart Gunn victorious. The company had no interest in pushing Gunn, and did nothing with him after his victory.

Finally at WrestleMania XV they decided to capitalize on his win, having him take on boxer/fighter Eric 'Butterbean' Esch in another Brawl for All rules match (boxing with takedowns). Butterbean had previously taken on Marc Mero in a worked "Tough Man" contest at In Your House: D-Generation X, but this would be a shoot, designed to punish the insubordinate Gunn for spoiling the company's plans.

Butterbean destroyed Gunn as planned, knocking him out in 35 seconds and all but ending his career in the United States. Gunn was released shortly thereafter and would go on to compete in Japan.
