25 Lamest WrestleMania Moments Of All Time

2. WrestleMania XXVIII - Sheamus Beats Daniel Bryan In 18 Seconds

When Daniel Bryan won the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC 2011, he wasn't supposed to hold the title for long. His obnoxious vegan persona became increasingly entertaining and well-received, though, and the powers that be decided to let him hold the title until WrestleMania, where he would clash with Royal Rumble winner Sheamus.

Given what happened between the two men the previous year, this bout was of great significance. Plus, the stakes were higher and Sheamus had improved greatly, making a showdown with the best wrestler in the world all the more exciting.

The match opened WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan kissed AJ Lee for good luck... and then Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick and pinned him.The crowd was outraged. This felt like a slap in the face to Bryan, as well as all of the hardcore fans who traveled hundreds of miles (many across oceans) to see the show - after all, these were the same fans who had long supported Bryan. He and Sheamus were robbed of a real WrestleMania match for the second year in a row, and the audience was cold until the Undertaker-Triple H match.

In the end, this burial of Bryan proved to be the impetus for the WWE Universe getting behind the talented grappler, embracing him (and his "Yes!" chant) and propelling him to superstardom. On 1 April 2012, though, it was just WWE's way of saving time on their biggest show and proving that they didn't care about alienating their most loyal fans.
