25 Most Memorable Wrestling Promos Of All-Time

10. Paul Heyman "Shoots" On Vince McMahon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KasnTlFiTmE Back to the "former ECW members give their thoughts on Vince McMahon" promos, Paul Heyman's ranks ahead of Joey Styles' version because of sheer promo ability. While Styles made his money by being able to talk, Heyman takes the art to another level and has always been able to do so. In this episode of Smackdown, Heyman actually got to cut his promo to Vince McMahon's face, which also helps the emotion in his words. Leading up to the 2001 Survivor Series and the "Invasion" story, Heyman had a lot to say about Vince and he began by talking about how "out of touch" McMahon is. He claimed Vince's ideas were too old fashioned and draconian to be successful. Sound familiar? Heyman would then kick it into high gear, telling a story about how Vince's father shook the hands of promoters all across the country and said he would never compete with them but once Vince Sr. passed away, Vince Jr. went against his father's words and began to wipe out territory after territory with ruthless tactics. Heyman said that Vince would become a billionaire because of other people's hard work and ideas, claiming that he (Heyman) had more ideas stolen than anyone, pointing out that Steve Austin was drinking beers in ECW before he was ever "Stone Cold" and that ECW's boundary-pushing style was around before Vince decided to give his promotion "attitude". Again, the proper "shoot" is a promo that plays up to what the internet fans are saying. These were the people that were already saying Vince was too old-fashioned to prosper. These were the people that were already saying Vince used the blood, sweat and tears of others to make billions for himself without any real hard work on his part. Hearing Heyman say those words had the internet going nuts.
