25 Most Memorable Wrestling Promos Of All-Time

8. Chris Jericho Is The Man Of 1,004 Holds

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpNmTNkuYQA WCW was famous for its mismanagement and that is part of the reason why this promo even took place at all. With Eric Bischoff and the WCW front office only focusing on the nWo and what was happening in the main event, that left the rest of the roster to fend for themselves. Chris Jericho was all but told to do whatever he wanted to do to try and get himself over. His comedic mind came up with this promo, which really helped to make him a big star. Mocking Dean Malenko's "Man Of 1,000 Holds" nickname, Jericho told the world that he knew 1,004 holds, which made him a better wrestler than Malenko. To prove it, he cut a promo that said he wrote down every single wrestling move and hold he knows. He began to read his list, including such legendary holds as the "Saskatchewan Spinning Nerve Hold" and the "Shooting Star Staple Super Press". The best joke of the entire promo was that he kept listing "Armbar" as a move over and over again. He went into commercial break reading his list and was hilariously still reading when the break was over. Nitro began its second hour and when the change was done, Jericho was still reading. It showed a great sense of humor on Jericho's part and really began to turn the tide for him as far as fan support went, even though he was a heel. It didn't show WCW management that he could be a star or anything, but that's part of why they no longer have jobs in the wrestling business.
