Why are WWE so terrified of going all in on anybody but Ronda Rousey or Brock Lesnar? What are they so scared of?

A few exceptions aside, they only ever half-commit to a push these days, and this is one of the main reasons why, in this star-less era, their roster is largely comprised of glorified midcarders that only half the audience ever reacts to. Their star-building machine is broken beyond repair.

The Fiend became the latest slice of proof last night. He was presented as the most intimidating thing in wrestling ahead of Hell In A Cell, yet left looking like just another dork on the roster, albeit with a fancy gimmick. Strapping him was an easy decision, particularly as Seth Rollins' reign hasn't produced a single spike in business. Alas, though, WWE can't commit. They sh*t the bed and went with a dopy finish instead.
