25 Ways WWE Has Ruined Raw

11. 'The Guy'

Whether John Cena or Roman Reigns, brand split era Raw has been cursed by one simple concept for the best part of 15 years: 'The Guy.'

An obnoxious, Hogan-esque Superman babyface, 'The Guy' is the strongest pushed wrestler on WWE's flagship show, even when not competing for the top title. They 'overcome the odds,' get shoved down the audience's throats, and are protected at all costs, with clean losses a rarity. Deafening jeers fill the arena as soon as their music hits. Their performances are rarely subpar (in Reigns' case, they're often exceptional), but WWE's presentation makes them unlikeable in the extreme.

The bulk of Cena's most obnoxious run came on Raw, and it's the same with Reigns today. Granted, Roman takes a lot more licks than prime 'Big Match John,' but he's still very much 'The Guy,' and all debate will be shut down when he takes Brock Lesnar's Universal Title at WrestleMania 34.
