25 Years Of WWE Raw Mistakes
5. 2013 - Stephanie Buries The Divas (June 17th)
For somebody that has since inserted herself in just about every prominent women's segment to no-so-subtly claim credit for the talent's success and determination, Stephanie McMahon spent an awful lot of time not really giving a sh*t about the cause.
Ignoring the countless derisory tales her creative team told, she went out of her way to eviscerate an already emaciated division on camera too.
AJ Lee - the character - was in the middle of obnoxiously celebrating her Divas title victory over former friend Kaitlyn 24 hours earlier, noting that there wasn't a woman in the locker room as 'strong, brilliant and courageous' as she was. That was all McMahon needed.
Strutting down to the ring with her Father's gaul sans irony, Stephanie literally and figuratively talked down to AJ Lee - the person - with threats of termination should she step out of line. When Kaitlyn chimed in to get the wrestling storyline back on track, McMahon abrasively afforded her mercy for the interruption 'this time'. The two title contenders couldn't compete with the real Champion.
