How do you show that your a no-good heel monster who is only bothered about money? Why, you sell the WWF Championship, of course. And who better to sell it to than the Million Dollar Man?

In case you're not familiar with this angle from 1988, Ted DiBiase had spent the early part of the year trying to buy the WWF Title from Hulk Hogan. Ever the baby-kissing, vitamin-taking babyface, the Hulkster was having none of it. And so DiBiase would come up with an alternative plan.

Andre would actually defeat Hogan for the title, largely down to a corrupt ref (Dave Hebner had been replaced by evil twin, Earl), and would promptly give up the belt to DiBiase for a stack of cash.

Whilst it was brief, Ted DiBiase did indeed prove that money makes the world go round and, at least as far as Andre was concerned, everybody did indeed have a price for the Million Dollar Man. Sadly for Ted, so disrespectful to the legacy of the WWF Championship was his actions, he'd be stripped of the title by then-President Jack Tunney, setting up a tournament for the gold at Wrestlemania 4.
