27. All The Fans With "Pop" Signs

For reasons only Pop executives are going to know, it seemed like every fan in the arena had been handed a special Pop-branded ping pong paddle, which they then excitedly hoisted into the air whenever someone on the mic, be it Dixie Carter or Kurt Angle, mentioned the company's name. Why would regular fans care? Was there a neon sign prompting them to throw the signs up? Were they politely asked to hold the signs up throughout the show? Or were a bunch of the "fans" just plants? The whole thing made no sense and made it feel like the crowd had been replaced by creepy pod people rather than living, breathing wrestling fans.
