3 Compelling Matchups For A Potential Ronda Rousey UFC Return (And 3 She Should Avoid)
2. Avoid: Cris Cyborg
A few years ago, Cris Cyborg taking on Ronda Rousey was one of the most talked about potential super fights in the business. Back then, both fighters were riding impressive winning streaks and looked unbeatable.
As we know, Rousey would go on to suffer multiple setbacks, before ultimately stepping away from the sport. On the other side of the coin, Cyborg continued to look unstoppable, up until last December, when she was knocked out by Amanda Nunes.
Despite her recent loss to Nunes, Cris Cyborg is still a terrifying fighter who throws a relentless barrage of power punches. Moreover, now that the fight has lost most of its luster, there is no reason for Rousey to go up to featherweight or Cyborg to consider cutting down to 135.
Weight aside, after losing 2 fights in a row via KO, taking on Cris Cyborg, the premier knockout artist in women's MMA, probably isn't the best career move — especially for someone who hasn't fought since 2016.
This may have been a dream fight in early 2015, but the outcome seems far more predictable in 2019.
