3 More Ups And 3 More Downs From WWE WrestleMania XXXIII

UPS…

3. JR Means No BS

WWE WrestleMania 33 Jim Ross

This definitely should have been mentioned in the previous column, but it was great to see WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross back in the saddle for the main event of WrestleMania Sunday night.

Ross called so many great matches and left an indelible impression on so many fans. His presence added a lot the product, something that has been sorely lacking with the vast majority of announcers to come along since then. Hell, his pre-match rundown on Roman Reigns did almost as much to legitimize him than two years of having him pushed at or near the top of the card. (OK, maybe that’s an exaggeration.)

But one big bonus of having JR out there for the main event: No Byron Saxton. Raw’s proverbial third wheel was nowhere to be found during the Undertaker/Reigns match, leaving Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Ross. That alone merits a huge thumbs-up.
