3 Ups & 12 Downs From WWE Raw (May 31)
2. Creative Doesn’t Have Anything For You
Remember after WrestleMania when the Viking Raiders returned to action and there was that brief moment when you felt like, “OK, so these are the guys who are going to be gradually built up to be the big challengers to AJ Styles & Omos?”
No, we don’t remember either.
After winning their first two matches, the Raiders haven’t had a match in six weeks. Just like that, apparently the writers ran out of ideas for a talented team that had been sitting on the sidelines for seven months. They were, however, able to be backstage welcoming rookie Mansoor, who also hasn’t competed on Raw for the past four weeks.
And they’re not alone.
Damian Priest wrapped up the feud with Miz & John Morrison two weeks ago and has only been spotted backstage, chatting with Riddle on Monday night. Angel Garza returned with newfound intensity in the beginning of May, but has vanished the past two weeks. Bray Wyatt, who originally was supposed to win at WrestleMania 37, lost and has vanished since the PPV. Much was made about Jinder Mahal returning with two big dudes accompanying him three weeks ago, but he hasn’t been seen since. Mustafa Ali's last match on Raw came more than two months ago.
WWE’s horrific writers can have segments involving Reginald and Alexa Bliss/Lilly every week, bad women’s tag matches and terrible supposed babyfaces tormenting Sheamus, but they’ve got nothing for all these other wrestlers, any of whom might be served well to get some action.
