3 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 25)

Downs...

2. Please, No More Squashes!

FAO literally everybody responsible for calling shots behind the scenes in AEW: Rampage doesn't need squashes. It just doesn't. They're easier to stomach when guys like Luchasaurus are doing the squishing, but the show is far too short to make these short scraps a valid part of the format sheets.

Next time, just chuck that particular piece of paper in the bin.

After all, what did Lucha achieve by beating Ren Jones in just over one full minute? He's already cast as an intimidating physical presence, so it's not like anyone would've been impressed by what he did here anyway. Plus, the strongest part of the dinosaur's act (Christian Cage) wasn't even present on set.

He was, however, there to watch backstage and stroke that TNT Title like his precious. Cage is great in this role, but Luchasaurus doesn't come across anywhere near as interesting without him. This week's show was further proof of that.
