3 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (Aug 25)

2. The Main Event & This Shot

Saraya Toni Storm
AEW

The headline tag match didn't set the world on fire, or anything, but it was a fine example of prioritising pay-per-view build towards something bigger rather than trying to breeze through every spot under the sun. Hikaru Shida was blinded, so hit Britt Baker by accident and opened a door for The Outcasts to win.

Very cool planning there.

Then, post-match, Rampage closed with a shot of Saraya and Toni Storm playing tug-o-war with the AEW Women's Title. Unwilling to let go if the other woman wouldn't, both then held the belt aloft and flashed totally see-through grins. Their tension will be something to watch out for at Wembley.

Baker probably could've done more to sell anger at Shida for effectively costing them the match, but All Elite presumably fancied putting shine on what might go down between stablemates. Fair enough, and it's hardly like Britt failing to get fired up at Hikaru damaged the PPV sell job.
