3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Deadly Draw: Women's Tag Team Tournament (Aug 10)

Downs...

3. Assumed History

Lil Swole Nicole Savoy Big Swole
AEW

That Nicole Savoy and Big Swole have experience working together on the indies prior to AEW's launch makes their pairing a logical one behind the scenes, though this needs to be explained on the broadcast.

Here, AEW skipped an essential step and assumed viewers would immediately understand why Big and Lil Swole being put together was a big deal. They greeted each other like friends, worked a similar gimmick, and were cooperative in the ring, though the lack of effort put forth in explaining their partnership was disappointingly un-AEW-like.

The duo's post-match interview saw Big Swole say they'd been doing this for a while and their chemistry was off the charts. Again, though, that means nothing unless you're a SHIMMER diehard. A little line or two filling in the gaps would have worked wonders.
