3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 12 - Results & Review)

1. There’s Still Zero Atmosphere

This was plain awkward.

There was a moment right before Jay White made his entrance for the main event: Justin Roberts was standing mid-ring, the camera panned down from the Rampage logo on the tron to the ring, and there was literally no noise in the building. Seriously, fans were really quiet and acting like a movie was about to start.

Tony Khan has to start booking smaller buildings at some point, man. It'd be great if AEW could still pack in bigger crowds to justify the venues they run, but they can't. The lack of atmosphere on company telly is affecting the product too, and that's even more worrying. It's not a good look for people watching from home, and (again) makes AEW look less than.

Practically none of the entrances caused a stir in the audience either. If Tony's outfit shifts anywhere between 3,000-4,000 tickets, then start booking 5,000 seat venues and aim for that number. It's embarrassing to hear episodes of TV sound like they're being filmed in your local swimming pool.
