3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Mar 11)

1. Meh Personified

Mercedes Martinez Jamie Hayter
AEW

Sadly, Mercedes Martinez vs. Jamie Hayter didn't click. The former is on somewhat of a downward trend, and the near-10 minutes both got here on Rampage felt like a lifetime. In short, it wasn't their best effort, and they're probably capable of better on another day.

Crappy matches happen.

It doesn't help that Martinez' importance to the destiny of the AEW Women's Title has been downplayed in recent weeks. Also, Hayter has become little more than Jamie Heater lately, so fans in attendance for their clash treated the match like what it was - a sideshow distraction for Thunder Rosa's issues with Britt Baker.

Fingers crossed neither woman gets judged for this one behind the scenes. Again, they're capable of producing better, and they will in the future. Some combos just don't jive in-ring though, so Tony Khan might want to keep Mercedes and Jamie away from one another.
