3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Battle Of The Belts IV

1. Still No World Title

Jon Moxley AEW World Champion
AEW

Tony Schiavone (bless him) tried to sell every match on the three-strong card as a "World Title" bout, but that's not really true. No-one views the All-Atlantic belt as a big deal, the TBS strap is a secondary prize to the AEW Women's Championship, and those ROH Tag Titles belong to a sister promotion.

Where is the AEW World Title, for crying out loud?

We're four deep into this Battle Of The Belts thing and the top championship hasn't shown up yet. The prior three BOTB specials had been headlined by the following matches: Britt Baker vs. Riho (Women's Title), Thunder Rosa vs. Nyla Rose (same) and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita (ROH World Title).

Jon Moxley was on Rampage around 45 minutes before Battle Of The Belts happened. He was stuck in a throwaway six-man opener on that regular weekly when a card all about defending championships was coming up next.

Sort it out, Tony Khan.
