3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW: Battle Of The Belts

2. As Good As Interim Can Be

Then, even better, the company went with Daniel Garcia challenging for the interim TNT Title during Cody's absence. Garcia entered the ring during Sammy's victory celebrations and went nose-to-nose with the new provisional champion. That got blood pumping in the stands, which is good sign.

All that hard work AEW has put into establishing Garcia as a threat is starting to pay off. Now, midweek, he'll wrestle Guevara in a battle of two young lions who should be considered amongst the leading lights for All Elite's future. Sammy sent out the challenge in a post-match promo, and Daniel will presumably accept.

This is a best-case scenario for everybody. Cody can take some time out to heal up, and Sammy can put on a dazzler vs. the hungry-as-f*ck Garcia with the interim TNT prize on the line. AEW did a snazzy job of making the belt seem sought-after here.

That's all anyone can ask for.
