3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Holiday Bash (Dec 23)

Downs...

4. Running Thin On Ideas

Jade Cargill
AEW

Jade Cargill is now 45-0.

That's all anyone can really say about her work on Rampage, because TNT didn't really show much of it. In total, fans tuning in witnessed Jade's entrance and around 90 seconds of her bout vs. Vertvixen. Yep, that was it - the usual picture-in-picture interruption hogged the screen for the rest of this five-minute segment.

It feels like Tony Khan has run out of ideas for Jade. This writer really likes Cargill, and she does have a tremendous upside, but the reigning TBS Champ badly needs something fresh in the new year. Put it this way: 2023 can't be stacked full of nothing wins like this one, or fans will lose interest quickly.

There must be someone out there who can work a cracking feud vs. Jade. Nyla Rose certainly wasn't that wrestler, and neither (regrettably) was Athena in the end. It's your move, Tony. Cargill is too eye-catching a star to fritter away in meaningless fare like this.
