3 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage: Holiday Bash (Dec 23)

2. Looking On The Bright Side

Dante Darius Martin Top Flight AR Fox

It felt like a missed opportunity not to have Rush and Preston Vance end the 'Trios Battle Royale' with that briefcase full of cash, but it's also hard to begrudge Top Flight and AR Fox some success. Dante and Darius Martin, in particular, fly under the radar a wee bit (ahem), and there's so much more to come from them.

That end stretch with Claudio Castagnoli was fantastic.

Whether it worked or not, you've got to credit AEW for trying something a little bit different with the trios concept. Sure 90% of the match was too busy and overbooked to properly focus on one or two stories/feuds, but that closing few minutes? Damn exciting.

The company should look no further than Top Flight as the underdog babyface duo of 2023. They've got natural chemistry, work the same non-stop style as teams like The Motor City Machine Guns, and they've clearly got a lot more to offer shows like Dynamite and Rampage.
